Week 3 YOJ Project = Music

Music is the word for inspiration this week.  For fun I looked up the definition in Wikipedia from which I quote:  "The border between music and noise is always culturally defined—which implies that, even within a single society, this border does not always pass through the same place; in short, there is rarely a consensus ... By all accounts there is no single and intercultural universal concept defining what music might be."  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music

Music can be soothing, evoke feelings of nostalgia, joy, sorrow, and can transport one to a different place and time,  and yes, sometimes is painful on the ears depending on who the listener is.

In a younger life I played bass clarinet.  I drew on that  experience when I began thinking about creating this piece of jewelry.  As we learned a new piece it sounded awful !  All the notes swirling around without purpose or rhythm, it sounded like noise initially.  After playing the piece again and again, practicing and refining - the result was magnificent, a perfect blending of instruments and time.

Here's a picture of the noise:

getting close to finished:

but it needed one more little bead before the final performance:

  1. Gorgeous wire wrapping in the pendant, and the necklace came together beautifully!

I'm taking part in the BSBP, too :) I think you should add a Follower (or Reader, can't remember the name in English) widget, so people can easily follow your blog. You should find it at the same place as the translate and search gadgets.
